Tato evropská norma specifikuje kritéria, metody a techniky pro volbu zařízení pro zjišťování netěsnosti metodami popsanými v příloze evropské normy EN 1779. Minimální požadavky na používané přístroje jsou také zahrnuty jako směrnice pro zkušební personál. Za volbu přístrojů pro danou zkoušku je s konečnou platností odpovědný kvalifikovaný pracovník minimálně s kvalifikací ve stupni 2 podle evropské normy EN 473.
