Tato norma obsahuje bezpečnostní požadavky na konstrukci, výrobu a provoz elektrických odsávačů par používaných pro komerční účely, jejichž jmenovité napětí není vyšší než 250 V (jednofázové spotřebiče) a 480 V (ostatní spotřebiče). Zahrnuje pouze kompletní samostatné jednotky a odsávače par dodávané jako samostatné části, které po montáži Tato norma neplatí pro spotřebiče používané v domácnosti, pro spotřebiče určené výhradně pro průmyslové účely a pro odsávače par bez vlastní ventilace.
