Tato norma stanoví zásady pro kreslení výkresů pozemních komunikací, tj. dálnic, silnic, místních komunikací a účelových komunikací v projektové dokumentaci stavby. Norma určuje způsob kreslení výkresů pozemních komunikací bez ohledu na účel nebo stupeň dokumentace. Pro kreslení výkresů mostů platí ČSN 01 3467. Norma neurčuje, jaké přílohy musí dokumentace pozemních komunikací obsahovat, ani neurčuje náplň jednotlivých grafických příloh. O obsahu dokumentace a náplni jednotlivých grafických příloh se rozhoduje s přihlédnutím k jakému účelu je dokumentace určena. Rozhodování se řídí příslušnými předpisy
