Tato norma je českou verzí evropské normy EN ISO 4157-3:1998. Evropská norma EN ISO 4157-3:1998 má status české technické normy. Oznámení o schválení: Text mezinárodní normy ISO 4157-3:1998 byl schválen CEN jako evropská norma bez jakýchkoliv modifikací. Norma se skládá z následujících částí: Část 1: Budovy a jejich části, Část 2: Názvy a čísla místností a Část 3: Evidenční čísla prostorů. Tato třetí část (ČSN EN) ISO 4157 stanovuje požadavky pro označování místností, prostorů a dutin v budovách pomocí evidenčních čísel. Uvádí nový způsob evidence a identifikace prostorů platný po celou dobu trvání stavby, tj. při jejím navrhování, stavění, údržbě, přestavbách a demolicích. Tato stručná norma norma uvádí jen tyto kapitoly: kapitolu 1 - Předmět normy, kapitolu 2 - Normativní odkazy, kapitolu 3 - Definice a kapitolu 4 - Princip evidenčních čísel prostorů. Dále norma obsahuje normativní Přílohu ZA. ČSN EN 4157-3 (01 3420) byla vydána v lednu 2000
