Norma platí pro oxid hlinitý používaný především pro výrobu hliníku a určuje pro stanovení oxidu vanadičného fotometrické metody s použitím N-benzoyl-N-fenylhydroxylaminu - pro hmotnostní zlomek oxidu vanadičného od 0,0005 do 0,02 % nebo kyseliny wolframové - pro hmotnostní zlomek oxidu vanadičného od 0,005 do 0,02 %. V normě jsou zapracovány údaje ISO 9208:1989 Při provádění rozboru musí být dodržena veškerá ustanovení podle ČSN 65 1041. ČSN 65 1047 byla schválena 25.4.1991 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.1.1992. Nahradila ČSN 65 1047 z 31.5.1978
