Norma platí pro konfekční kožešnické výrobky, a to pro třídění podle jakosti, dodávání, prověřování dodávky, balení, dopravu a skladování. Norma neřeší, neobsahuje ani se nedotýká problematiky ochrany zdraví. ČSN 79 7101 byla schválena 27.12.1983 a nabyla účinnosti od 1.10.1984. Nahradila ČSN 79 7101 z r.1967. "Změnou a)-5/1989" se s účinností od 1.7.1989 provádí v normě úprava textu úvodní části. Norma platí i pro dovážené výrobky
